Armando Menocal
Founder of the Access Fund and Acceso PanAm, Armando has led a life full of climbing and activism. Born to Cuban parents in Miami, Florida, he’s the descendant of a rebel that fought to liberate Cuba from Spanish rule. His work defending land access for climbers almost seems a birthright. Armando has climbed for 40 years on five continents, lived in Nepal and the Grand Tetons, and worked as a rock and alpine guide for Exum Mountain Guides. Without him, sport climbing might not exist as it does in the United States. Thank you, Armando.
